I’m receiving surveys from the various 2020 candidates. I answer all of them. I tell them I’m a one-issue candidate – Serious Mental Illness (SMI). I say, “None of the candidates are talking about this issue.” I say, “If you put together a strong, national plan for SMI that includes IMD repeal, HIPPA reform, decriminalization of mental illness, brain research, housing, supported education, long-term care, outpatient care, access to mental illness services, family supports, etc., then I’ll make you my candidate.
